Audio leak: Sindh Governor blames PDM govt for MQM-P’s shrinking vote bank

Sindh Governor Tessori

KARACHI: In a leaked audio, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori points fingers at the PPP and PML-N for the decline in MQM-P’s voter support.

Tessori alleges that MQM-P’s association with the PTI-led government led to dissatisfaction among its voters, as they were upset with the party’s alignment with the PDM.

He emphasizes that MQM-P had initially secured seven seats in the 2018 elections, which he considers their true mandate.

Mustafa Kamal confirms authenticity of leaked audio

However, after securing 17 National Assembly seats, Kamran Tessori highlights the accusation from other parties questioning the authenticity of MQM-P’s mandate.

Despite this, he defends MQM-P’s stance and warns of the risks of being part of a government facing public backlash.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Kamal, in a separate incident, confirmed the authenticity of an audio leak attributed to him. He acknowledged the common occurrence of rival parties disputing MQM-P’s mandate but brushed off their claims.
