Aun Chaudhry reveals why he met Nawaz Sharif at Lahore airport

WEB DESK: Istihkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Additional Secretary General Aun Chaudhry has revealed the reason why he met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif at the Lahore airport.

In a statement, Chaudhry said that he met Sharif in his personal capacity. He added that he was a part of the Shehbaz Sharif cabinet for one and a half years.

He has also submitted his explanation to the party leadership regarding the meeting with Sharif

Earlier, IPP issued a show-cause notice to Aun Chaudhry for his meeting with Nawaz Sharif, seeking an explanation regarding the said meeting.

Chaudhry, who previously served as an aide to Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had expressed his support for Jahangir Khan Tareen. In August 2021, he tendered his resignation as the special adviser to the Punjab chief minister when he was asked to clarify his stance regarding whether he stood with Tareen or the party. This situation arose amid the disagreements between Imran Khan and Tareen concerning a significant sugar scandal.
