Australia victorious again; England loses second Ashes test

Ashes Test

Australia claimed a commanding 8-wicket victory over England in the second Test of the Ashes series, moving ahead 2–0 in the five-match contest.

England, batting in their second innings, were bowled out for 241 runs, setting a modest target of 65 runs for Australia. The Australian batting lineup comfortably chased down the total, sealing a straightforward win.

Captain Ben Stokes top-scored for England with 50 runs, while Zak Crawley contributed 44 and Will Jacks added 41, but the rest of the batting order failed to withstand the Australian attack.

Australia’s Michael Neser was the standout performer with the ball, taking five wickets, while Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland claimed two wickets each, dismantling England’s hopes of setting a more challenging target.

Earlier in the match, Australia had piled up a massive 511 runs in their first innings, putting England under significant pressure and setting the tone for the dominant win.

With this victory, Australia tighten their grip on the Ashes series as England look to regroup ahead of the third Test.
