Babar Azam returns to ICC Test batting top 10

WEB DESK: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest Test and ODI player rankings, with Pakistan captain Babar Azam returning to the top 10 among Test batters.

Babar climbed five places to reach 10th position in the Test batting rankings. He had been ranked 15th ahead of Pakistan’s second Test against the West Indies.

Pakistan’s young batter Abdullah Shafique made a significant 25-place jump to reach 32nd in the Test batting rankings.

Spinner Sajid Khan also improved five places to 30th in the Test bowling rankings following his impressive performance in the away series against the West Indies. He also climbed five places to 32nd in the Test all-rounders’ rankings.

Australia’s Travis Head retained the top spot in the Test batting rankings, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah remained No. 1 among Test bowlers and Ravindra Jadeja continued to lead the Test all-rounders’ rankings.

In the ODI rankings, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz moved up three places to 11th, while Hashmatullah Shahidi climbed four places to 50th among batters.

Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan further strengthened his position at the top of the ODI bowling rankings.
