WEB DESK: The Balochistan Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution paying tribute to the Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The motion, which recognises their “steadfast leadership” during the recent Marka-e-Haq and the ongoing Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, underscores a unified political front in the face of regional security challenges, according to Radio Pakistan.
Unanimous support in Quetta
The session, presided over by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai in Quetta, saw the resolution tabled by the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Members from across the treasury and opposition benches supported the move, acknowledging the strategic efforts of both the civilian government and the military high command.
The resolution specifically highlighted the personal resolve of the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal in navigating the complexities of Marka-e-Haq, framing the operations as pivotal moments for provincial and national stability.
National security and adjournment
Beyond the commendations, the assembly reaffirmed its commitment to Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, a counter-terrorism initiative aimed at rooting out extremism and ensuring the long-term prosperity of the province.
CM Sarfraz Bugti noted that the synergy between the federal government and the armed forces has been instrumental in restoring public confidence.
Following the successful passage of the resolution and brief discussions on the security apparatus, Speaker Achakzai adjourned the session until Monday, when the house is expected to resume its legislative agenda.
