Bangladesh jumps to 4 position in latest ICC rankings

DUBAI: Bangladesh jumped to the fourth position in International Cricket Council’s (ICC) updated rankings following its history-defining victory over Pakistan in latest test series on Wednesday.

Bangladesh jumped to fourth position in the ICC’s World Test Championships ranking. The South Asian team now holds 33 points from six matches. The Tigers have won 3 and lost 3 of their games, with a per centage of 45.83.

Meanwhile, the updated ICC rankings shows India maintaining its lead in the World Test Championships list despite a deduction of 2 points. The Men in Blue are leading with 74 points from 9 matches, having won 6, lost 2 and drawn a single match.

The Aussies were runner-up, with 90 points from 12 games, having won 8, and lost 3 matches. The Kangaroos also suffer a single match that ended in a draw. The team suffered a deduction of 10 points, that brought down their per centage to 62.50.

The New Zealand team followed their neighbours to the third place, holding 36 points from 6 matches. The Kiwis enjoy an equal record of wins and losses like Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, England, despite a strong performance with 81 points from 15 matches, has dropped to the fifth place. They have won 8, lost 6, and drawn a single match with a deduction of 19 points.

South Africa and Sri Lanka occupy the sixth and seventh positions, respectviely. South Africa boasts 28 points from 6 matches, whereas Sri Lanka enjuoys 24 points from 6 games.

Meanwhile, Pakistan limped to eighth place with 16 points from 7 matches.

West Indies ended up at the bottom with 20 points from 9 matches.
