Bearded old men in Astore forced minor boy to drink urine

GILGIT: A disturbing incident has come to light in Gomai, a remote area of Astore district, where a minor boy was allegedly forced to drink human urine, sparking widespread outrage and concern.

According to social media posts, the incident took place when children playing in an open area outside their homes, started joking about drinking urine.

At this point, a few elderly men and women reportedly entered the scene and forced one of the boys – estimated to be between 12 and 14 years old – to consume urine.

A video of the alleged incident has since gone viral on social media, showing an elderly man with white beard along with a woman and another man forcing the boy to drink something from a red bottle.

The footage has intensified public anger and drawn strong reactions both online and within the local community.

The boy’s family and residents of Astore held protest demonstration against the ridiculous act of elderly men and woman, demanding immediate and strict action against them.

They have called on the district administration to ensure justice is served and safeguards are put in place to protect children from such traumatic experiences.

When contacted, Astore Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Awais told HUM News English that a police team headed by the Subdivision Police Officer (SDPO) has been dispatched to investigate the matter.

“The incident occurred in a remote area of Gumai. It will take some time for the team to reach the location due to the difficult terrain. Once they arrive, they will interview the victim’s family and neighbors to determine whether the incident is genuine or fabricated,” he added.

Dead child revived in Astore

Another tragic and mysterious incident happened yesterday in Astore when a child — who was initially declared dead after drowning in a tank near an under-construction hospital building — reportedly revived at home, but tragically passed away again after being re-admitted to the hospital.

The child named Azan drowned in an under-construction underground water tank of the old Eidgah Hospital.

Locals rushed Azan to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital after rescuin him on their own, where the doctors pronounced him dead.

However, after being taken home and given a bath, the child began to show signs of life, opening his eyes and attempting to move his legs. He was immediately taken back to the hospital, but unfortunately, by then, he could not be revived.

The grieving family lodged an FIR against the contractors of the building, Rescue 1122, and DHQ Hospital under the charges of negligence and wrongful death.
