Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: Prepare for quirky and spooky in Tim Burton’s sequel


WEB DESK: The trailer for Tim Burton’s classic Beetlejuice sequel just dropped, and it’s as quirky and spooky as ever!

The trailer for the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 horror-comedy was released on the Warner Bros Pictures official YouTube account and has already amassed more than 2.7 million views.

The trailer opens with a warning, “Be warned. It’s intense,” setting the tone for Tim Burton’s quintessential style of blending the whimsical and spooky.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will feature Michael Keaton returning as the crude Betelgeuse, summoned when someone says his name three times. Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara will also reprise their roles from the original. Whereas, Jenna Ortega of Netflix’s “Wednesday” fame was cast as a new character for the sequel.

The movie will drop on September 6 and already promises a funny story. After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home.

Beetlejuice continues to haunt Lydia’s life when he is accidentally summoned by her rebellious teenage daughter. Astrid discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife.

As Beetlejuice comes back to life, Lydia’s life turns for worst. “The juice is loose,” Beetlejuice declares.

The official trailer also confirms the death of Charles Deetz from the original movie. Astrid laments the death of her grandfather in the trailer, while Lydia sighs that “Death is hard.”

“The living, the dead… can they coexist? That’s what we’re here to find out,” Lydia says in the trailer.

Tim Burton returned to produce and direct the “Beetlejuice” sequel from a script by screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

Brad Pitt, David Katzenberg, Laurence Senelick, Gough, Millar, Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, and Andrew Lary serve as executive producers. While Tommy Harper, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner are producers. Danny Elfman composed the film’s music.
