BIEK Result 2024: students struggle to pass HSC part-1 exams

KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Tuesday announced the results for the first-year annual examinations across multiple streams, including Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science, Arts (Private), Commerce (Private), and Home Economics. 

The results, released online, include the roll numbers of successful candidates who have passed the examinations. Students can check their individual results on BIEK’s official website or through the board’s designated platforms.

According to him, 31,267 students registered in the Pre-Medical group with 30,528 appearing in the exams. Among them, 10,914 students passed all six papers, while others achieved partial success across fewer papers. 

The Pre-Engineering group saw 23,391 registrations, with 22,973 candidates appearing. Of these, 6,674 cleared all six papers, while thousands of others succeeded in varying numbers of subjects. 

Similarly, 17,690 students registered for the General Science group, and 17,375 appeared. Of these, 6,282 cleared all six papers, reflecting a notable performance. 

The controller of examinations further said that in the Arts (Private) group, 2,268 candidates registered, and 2,080 appeared. Only 552 candidates managed to clear all six papers. 

The Commerce (Private) group recorded 1,651 registrations, with 1,570 appearing. A total of 490 students passed all seven papers, while others succeeded partially. 

The Home Economics group, with 194 registered candidates and 190 appearing, saw 75 students clearing all seven papers. 

Officials noted that while a significant number of students succeeded in clearing all their exams, many showed partial progress, passing fewer than the required papers. 

Mark sheets can be collected from respective colleges while those who could not pass reappear in the supplementary examinations. BIEK will share further details regarding the supplementary exams on its website in due course.
