ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday, accusing them of not being sincere and engaging in hypocritical politics.
While addressing the National Assembly session Bilawal said that President Asif Ali Zardarirefrained from discussing political or personal matters, instead he talked about his commitment to representing the federation and its people. He focused on unity and dialogue, highlighting their necessity for addressing issues like poverty and inflation, underscoring their importance for Pakistan’s progress.

Bilawal Bhutto said that it is the responsibility of the opposition not only to voice their personal grievances but also to speak for the people of Pakistan. While their right to protest democratically is acknowledged, it is their duty to work towards resolving the issues faced by the people.
He suggested to both the opposition and the government regarding the budget that the opposition needs to engage more actively. At a time when Pakistan is facing a crisis, the opposition seems to have neglected its duties. It’s essential to remind them that the money they receive from the parliament should be justified by their active participation in budgetary and parliamentary affairs.
Bilawal further said that if they [PTI] are interested in the law, the PPP is ready to help but if they are playing dramas, then neither they nor the people will benefit.
Bilawal pointed out the insincerity of PTI by referencing the appointment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur as one of their ‘gifts’ to the nation. He compared this to the previous appointment of Usman Buzdar in Punjab. He questioned why Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should receive such a chief minister and suggested that this reflects PTI’s hypocrisy. According to him, it’s evidence that they are not genuinely interested in addressing the province’s issues but are merely staging political dramas.
