ISLAMABAD: Rajab Butt, a YouTuber recently charged with blasphemy, has issued a video apology while performing Umrah.
A case was filed against him under the PECA Act for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The controversy stemmed from his newly launched perfume, introduced in a YouTube vlog. The perfume’s name has sparked severe backlash on social media.
Following the criticism, Butt deleted the video and halted the perfume’s sales. Rajab Butt has not been arrested yet and is currently in Saudi Arabia for Umrah. He recorded an apology video inside the Grand Mosque and shared it online.
He appealed to religious scholars, the Punjab government, and the Pakistan Army to reconsider the case against him and ensure justice.

Butt has often made headlines for controversial social media content. Several cases have been registered against him. In December last year, he was arrested for possessing a lion cub and illegal weapons without a license but was later released on bail.
