WEB DESK: Brazil’s traditional World Cup TV audience is fragmenting as YouTube-based CazeTV emerges as a major rival to established broadcasters.

While Globo remains the dominant TV rights holder and has reached most viewers, early figures show fans increasingly splitting between television and streaming platforms.

CazeTV, founded by streamer Casimiro Miguel, is broadcasting all World Cup matches for free and attracting large digital audiences, including peak viewership in the tens of millions during key Brazil games.

The shift is most visible among younger viewers, who prefer online, interactive coverage over traditional TV broadcasts.

The platform’s rise reflects broader changes in sports viewing habits, with streaming becoming a serious competitor to television in major global events like the World Cup.
