Bridgerton season 4: Yerin Ha to star opposite Benedict

WEB DESK: Netflix’s “Bridgerton” officially cast Yerin Ha as Sophie Beckett. She will play the romantic lead opposite Benedict Bridgerton in the eagerly awaited fourth season.

The fourth season will centre on Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. The show will follow the character on his journey through romance and personal growth.

Meanwhile, Yerin Ha’s character, Sophie Beckett, will be central to Benedict’s story, based on Julia Quinn’s novel, “An Offer From a Gentleman.”

The fourth season of Bridgerton will shift its attention to the second son of the Bridgerton family: Benedict. The second son has so far shown great reluctance to settle down despite his siblings’ happy marriages.

Benedict’s reluctance changes when he meets the enigmatic “Lady in Silver” at his mother’s masquerade ball. Sophie Beckett, as depicted in the novel, is the illegitimate daughter of an earl and one of his maids. Raised in her father’s home but never publicly acknowledged, Sophie’s story is one of hidden lineage.

Yerin Ha joins the cast with notable credentials. She gained recognition for her role in Paramount+’s adaptation of the “Halo” video game series, where she played Kwan Ha. Her previous work includes roles in Australian television series like “Reef Break” and “Troppo,” as well as the indie horror film “Sissy.”

Ha will also feature in the upcoming Max prequel series “Dune: Prophecy,” slated to premiere in November.

The fourth season of Bridgerton will build on the momentum of the third, which premiered in two parts between May and June 2024.

Production for the new season will commence this autumn. The projected premiere date is set for 2026. The show will be produced by Shondaland and developed by Chris Van Dusen.

Bridgerton has cemented its status as one of Netflix’s most-watched series. It consistently ranks among the top ten most-viewed English-language TV shows.
