Cher’s next big surprise could be a wedding

Cher is reportedly preparing to tie the knot with her boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards as she approaches her 80th birthday next year.

According to reports, the singer, 79, is planning to marry the 39-year-old music executive after nearly three years of dating. Sources claim Cher sees her milestone birthday in May as the perfect moment to take the next step in their relationship.

The couple are said to be unfazed by their 40-year age gap. One source said Cher “does not give a hoot” about the criticism and is ready to fully commit.

Cher recently spoke about her relationship during an appearance on US morning show CBS Mornings, where she described Edwards as “beautiful” and “really talented”. Addressing online criticism of their age difference, she said outsiders did not understand their relationship and that the couple simply enjoyed their life together.

She also shared that she has grown close to Edwards’ six-year-old son, Slash, whom he shares with model Amber Rose. Cher described the child as smart, funny and a delight to be around.

Cher has been married twice before. Her first marriage to Sonny Bono lasted from 1964 until 1975, and they share a son, Chaz Bono. She later married musician Gregg Allman in 1975, and they welcomed a son, Elijah Blue, before divorcing.

Edwards is reported to be living with Cher at her Malibu home, and the couple are frequently seen attending fashion events and high-profile social outings together.
