Christina Aguilera says her daughter has one strict rule for her at home

Christina Aguilera has revealed that her 10-year-old daughter Summer Rain has one firm request for her at home and it is all about keeping things natural.

Speaking on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer said her daughter prefers seeing her without makeup. “Summer’s favourite side is ‘no makeup mama’,” Aguilera shared. “As soon as I’m done shooting, she’s like, ‘OK, can you take that off now? It’s time to be cosy.’”

The 44-year-old added that Summer especially loves her freckles. “She loves my freckles and I cover them a lot. She’s like, ‘Am I going to have freckles one day?’”

Aguilera shares Summer with her fiancé Matt Rutler. She is also mum to 17-year-old son Max Liron, whom she shares with ex-husband Jordan Bratman. While Summer is quick to praise her at home, Aguilera joked that Max is a little harder to impress.

The singer said they bond most when she headlines festivals, as Max enjoys meeting other artists backstage. She recently performed at Portola alongside LCD Soundsystem, one of his favourite bands. “I get cool mum points for that,” she laughed.

Aguilera said motherhood has taught her patience and perspective. “I never want to push anything on my kids. Whatever they’re passionate about, I’m there to support it,” she added.
