CJP shortens SC summer break due to pending cases


The full bench of the Supreme Court (SC) is set to resume the hearing on the case pertaining to specific seats allocated to the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) on Thursday (today).

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa announced that summer vacation in the Supreme Court would be shortened by one month, according to media reports.

The decision was taken due to the increasing number of cases pending in the apex court. Summer vacation in the Supreme Court will be from July 15 instead of June 15.

Following the declaration of the summer vacation period from June 3 to August 3 for the Sindh High Court and its subordinate courts, measures have been taken to maintain the delivery of crucial judicial services.

A revised schedule of benches and judges has been established to address urgent matters throughout the vacation period, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of essential judicial functions. INP
