Commonwealth Games: Pakistan suffer defeat against Australia in Lawn Bowls opener

WEB DESK: Pakistan’s Lawn Bowls team began its Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign with a defeat, losing 0-2 against Australia in the team event.
Australia secured a 2-0 victory over Pakistan, winning the first set 5-4 after a closely contested battle.
The Australian team continued their dominance in the second set, defeating Pakistan 12-1 to complete a convincing win.
Pakistan will return to action tomorrow when they face Northern Ireland in their second match of the event, taking place on July 30.
Following the match against Ireland, the national team will later face New Zealand on July 31 as part of the sectional stage of the competition.
The Lawn Bowls event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games is featuring teams from across the world, with sectional matches being held from July 23 to August 2 at the SEC Centre. Pakistan will aim to bounce back in its upcoming fixtures and strengthen its position in the tournament.
