ISLAMABAD: Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Dr Gordan Grlić Radman, arrived in the federal capital on Thursday morning for an official one-day visit aimed at deepening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Upon his arrival at the airport, the Croatian foreign minister was warmly received by the Director General Europe-I of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), alongside other senior officials.
High-level diplomacy in focus
In a high-level meeting this morning, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received Croatia’s Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Dr. Gordan Grlić Radman, alongside his delegation to discuss expanding bilateral relations.
The two sides explored robust cooperation across a wide array of sectors including trade, investment, IT, agriculture, labor mobility, defense, and climate change while emphasizing the critical role of maritime connectivity through potential collaborations between Pakistani and Croatian ports.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to long-term regional and global cooperation, reviewed Pakistan-EU relations, and agreed to hold the next round of Bilateral Political Consultations later this year or in early 2027 to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Expanding bilateral cooperation
According to diplomatic sources, Pakistan attaches high importance to its relationship with Croatia, a key member state of the European Union.
The foreign office noted that Islamabad looks forward to further strengthening bilateral cooperation with Zagreb across several areas of mutual interest, particularly looking to boost trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.
The visit is seen as a pivotal step in reinforcing Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach to Europe and fostering robust institutional linkages between the two nations.
