Dar calls for effective implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir, Palestine

WEB DESK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday called for the sincere implementation of United Nations (UN) resolutions on occupied Kashmir and Palestine.
During a meeting with UN Secretary-General candidate Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett, the deputy prime minister stressed the importance of respecting international law, agreements, and UN Security Council resolutions.
The foreign minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the objectives and principles of the UN Charter.
He said the UN must be made more effective to address emerging global challenges, while highlighting the need for reforms to better respond to the concerns and needs of developing countries.
Ishaq Dar reiterated that Pakistan will continue supporting multilateralism and efforts aimed at strengthening the role of the UN in promoting global peace and cooperation.
The meeting also featured discussions on challenges facing the UN and its role in addressing key global issues, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson.
