Defence Minister Khuwaja Asif slams Indian Diplomacy as ‘Total Failure’

WEB DESK: In a scathing assessment of regional geopolitics, Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has dismissed India’s recent diplomatic efforts as an “utter failure.”

Speaking during a televised interview on Naya Pakistan on Geo News, Asif suggested that the Indian leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, are experiencing heightened frustration as Pakistan takes a more central role in mediating talks between the United States and Iran.

Asif’s comments come at a time of shifting alliances and renewed diplomatic engagement in South Asia. He argued that while India previously sought to project itself as a global mediator notably during the Russia-Ukraine conflict its influence has since waned.

The Minister claimed that the “artificial stature” built by the BJP government is collapsing, leaving the Indian administration “scratching their faces” in disappointment as they are sidelined from critical regional discussions.

A shift in regional influence

The Defence Minister further intensified his rhetoric by targeting the credentials of India’s top diplomats. He remarked that despite Minister Jaishankar’s familial background in diplomacy, his recent performance reflects a lack of strategic depth.

Asif asserted that India has “lost its way” both militarily and diplomatically, particularly in its long-standing conflict with Pakistan.

He concluded by suggesting that the true face of the Indian leadership is being exposed to the international community, undermining the “moderate” image the country has tried to maintain on the world stage.
