‘Elden Ring’ movie reveals star-studded cast with major fantasy names

Elden Ring

Elden Ring is pulling together one of the most stacked fantasy ensembles in recent memory, with its newly revealed cast bringing together familiar faces from some of the genre’s biggest franchises.

Directed by Alex Garland, the film is based on the hit video game by FromSoftware, with worldbuilding by George R. R. Martin.

Fantasy heavyweights lead a packed lineup

The cast includes Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw and Cailee Spaeny, alongside Nick Offerman and Jonathan Pryce.

Several names will be especially familiar to fantasy fans. Sonoya Mizuno and Jefferson Hall, known for their roles in House of the Dragon, are part of the ensemble, while Pryce is widely recognised for his role in Game of Thrones.

Spaeny, who recently led Alien: Romulus, also joins the cast, adding crossover appeal from the sci-fi space.

A major adaptation takes shape

While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to draw from the game’s dark and expansive world, centred on a fractured realm ruled by powerful demigods.

The project is being produced by A24 and Bandai Namco Entertainment, with production set to begin in spring 2026.

Release date confirmed

The Elden Ring adaptation is currently scheduled to hit cinemas on March 3, 2028.

With its cast now revealed, attention is turning to how the film will translate the game’s vast lore to the big screen and whether it can match the scale fans expect.
