DC Studios has released the first teaser for Supergirl, offering a brief but striking look at Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El ahead of the full trailer premiering on Thursday.
Alcock, who first appeared as Supergirl in 2025’s Superman, leads the new film directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. It marks the second feature from the James Gunn and Peter Safran era of DC Studios.
Set for release on 26 June 2026, Supergirl follows Alcock’s Kara as she steps into her own story alongside a new cast that includes Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
In an interview earlier this year, Gunn praised Alcock’s casting, calling her “the best bit of casting I have ever done” and saying she is “absolutely stunning in the movie”.
The film adapts Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s 2022 comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which follows Supergirl and Ruthye as they travel across the galaxy seeking justice after Krem murders Ruthye’s father. Nogueira has brought the story to the screen, with DC describing the film as a more character-driven and cosmic entry into its new slate.
DC Studios also released a series of stills from the teaser, giving fans their first detailed look at Alcock’s suit, the film’s tone and early glimpses of Krem and Ruthye.

With the full trailer arriving next, Supergirl is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated titles in DC’s revamped cinematic universe.
