Extension or no extension in polling time, ECP will decide later

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Member Sindh Nisar Durrani, has addressed the media regarding the potential extension of polling hours in the upcoming elections.
Speaking to media outside a polling station, Durrani informed reporters that while postal ballots have been collected, a final decision on extending the polling time will be deliberated upon later.
CEC shares security concerns amid internet suspension
Durrani expressed satisfaction with the ongoing voting process, stating his intention to personally visit various polling stations. According to him, the electoral proceedings have been conducted smoothly, with no significant complaints reported thus far.
Regarding the temporary suspension of mobile services, Durrani clarified that this decision lay with the local administration. However, he reassured the public that this interruption would not impede the ECP’s operations.
Earlier statements from the ECP officials had also underscored that the Election Management System (EMS) would remain functional regardless of internet connectivity issues.
