‘Fallout’ season 2 is arriving early. Everything we know so far

Fallout season 2

Fans heading back into the wasteland will not have to wait quite as long. Prime Video has confirmed that Fallout season 2 will premiere a day earlier than originally planned.

The new season will now debut on December 16, instead of December 17, with the first episode dropping at 9pm ET. The early release comes as anticipation continues to build following the show’s successful first season.

Unlike season 1, which was released in full for binge viewing, Prime Video has opted for a weekly rollout this time. Only the premiere episode will be available on December 16, with new episodes releasing weekly until the season finale on February 4, 2026.

What will season 2 be about?

Season 2 is expected to draw heavily from the fan-favourite game Fallout: New Vegas. The story picks up after the dramatic season 1 finale, which saw Hank MacLean flee to New Vegas.

His daughter Lucy, played by Ella Purnell, once again teams up with the Ghoul, portrayed by Walton Goggins, as they pursue him across the wasteland. Lucy is determined to bring her father to justice, while the Ghoul is searching for answers about the whereabouts of his wife Barb and daughter Janey.

Their journey is set to introduce major New Vegas factions, including the Kings and Caesar’s Legion, expanding the show’s universe further.

What’s happening with the Brotherhood of Steel?

Elsewhere, Maximus, played by Aaron Moten, finds himself back within the Brotherhood of Steel. Tensions are rising inside the organisation, with signs of an internal power struggle and the looming threat of cold fusion discovery adding further instability.

With multiple storylines unfolding across the wasteland, season 2 is shaping up to raise the stakes considerably.
