KHAIRPUR: Hina Shah, a fugitive and one of the primary suspects in the case involving the murder of the minor maid, Fatima Phariro, surrendered to the police on Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samiullah Soomro confirmed that Hina Shah, the wife of Pir Asad Shah, turned herself in, citing the relentless police raids and actions as the reason for her surrender.

Following her surrender, Hina Shah has been transferred to the women’s police station, where she will subsequently appear before the court for a remand hearing, according to SSP Soomro.

Despite conducting numerous raids in various localities, the police were unable to apprehend the prime suspect in the Fatima murder case.

Fatima Murder Case: Prime suspect still at large

The tragic death of 10-year-old Fatima occurred in the Haveli (residence) of Asad Shah, and a video of the incident gained notoriety on social media.

The postmortem report confirmed that the young maid had been subjected to sexual abuse, as stated by DIG Sukkur Javed Jiskani. Asad Shah and his father-in-law, Fayyaz Shah, are already in custody in connection with the case.

In earlier developments, Fatima’s mother raised concerns, alleging that “SHO Khanwahin Ghani Dayo issued threats to abduct or kill me” and accused him of using derogatory language against her late daughter.

The caretaker home minister of Sindh, during a visit to the family, directed action against SHO Ghani Dayo, who continues to hold his position despite the allegations.
