ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said that the federal government will provide one million smartphones to students across the country.

Speaking at an event marking the International Day of Youth, organized by the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, the Prime Minister announced that, in addition to smartphones, the government will provide tablets and laptops to top-performing students across the country.

This includes students from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and remote areas of Balochistan. He also mentioned that each province has its own programmes to support students.

“With Huawei’s collaboration, 300,000 young people will receive IT training, and 1,000 agricultural graduates will be sent to China on scholarships. I will soon announce a plan for Pakistan’s economic revival and development and prosperity,” added PM.

He shared his vision of equipping talented youth with modern education, information technology, and artificial intelligence to drive a transformative revolution in the country, akin to the progress seen in China. He also highlighted his previous efforts to provide advanced facilities to students at Danish Schools.
