Field Marshal Asim Munir reviews Pakistan Ordinance Factory production, export potential during Wah visit

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in Wah, where he reviewed the defence industrial complex’s production capabilities, export potential and ongoing efforts to strengthen indigenous defence manufacturing, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, the CDF Munir was briefed on various aspects of POF’s operations and its role in strengthening national defence through the indigenous development and production of military equipment.
He also witnessed tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured arms and ammunition, highlighting POF’s efforts towards innovation, self-reliance and enhancing Pakistan’s defence production capabilities.
According to ISPR, Munir was given an overview of progress on the corporatisation process following the enactment of the DIPRA Ordinance.
He was also briefed on ongoing indigenisation and upgradation efforts, including the installation of two new industrial plants.
The plants are expected to commence production by the end of the current year, according to ISPR.
The visit underscored the military’s focus on advancing self-reliance, indigenous production and technological innovation in Pakistan’s defence sector.
