Field Marshal Asim Munir says peace, prosperity of Balochistan remain central to state efforts

WEB DESK: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday said the peace, prosperity and welfare of the people of Balochistan remain at the centre of state efforts, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Field Marshal Asim Munir made the remarks during a visit to Quetta Garrison, where he reviewed the overall security situation in Balochistan and was briefed on operational matters.
The Corps Commander Quetta received the CDF upon his arrival at the garrison, the military’s media wing said.
During the visit, Munir met formation commanders and commanding officers, who briefed him on the security situation in the province and various operational matters.
He was also briefed on measures being taken to ensure sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan, while ongoing efforts for the province’s socio-economic development were discussed.
Munir stressed the need for continued and effective coordination among law enforcement agencies and other relevant institutions to ensure peace and stability in the province.
He said a secure and stable environment would help promote development initiatives and create greater economic opportunities in Balochistan.
The CDF underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among all relevant institutions for maintaining peace and improving the lives of the people of the province.
He also appreciated the professional expertise, operational preparedness and selfless commitment of the troops.
Munir praised the resolve, courage and professional performance of officers and soldiers and expressed hope that ongoing efforts for peace and stability in Balochistan would continue with greater effectiveness.
During the visit, he also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s peace and stability.
He further said the sacrifices of the martyrs were a source of pride for the nation.
