Field Marshal Asim Munir urges readiness for modern warfare during Quetta visit

ISLAMABAD: Army chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Quetta Garrison and stressed the need for preparedness against modern warfare challenges, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during his visit, Asim Munir addressed officers and faculty at the Command and Staff College in Quetta, describing the institution as a symbol of high training standards, intellectual development and professional excellence.

He urged officers and troops to continuously adapt to evolving battlefield requirements, emerging technologies and multi-domain operations, stressing that operational readiness and professional competence remained critical in a changing security environment.

“The maintenance of high standards of professional excellence, preparedness and operational superiority is a requirement of the time,” Munir was quoted as saying.

The army chief also met officers and troops deployed in Balochistan, where he lauded their operational readiness and morale, ISPR said.

He reiterated that the armed forces, with the support of the Pakistani people, remained committed to eliminating terrorism from the country.

“The journey of Pakistan’s development cannot be halted by propaganda, fake news or externally sponsored terrorism,” he said, adding that attempts to destabilise the country through proxies and misinformation would fail.

Asim Munir emphasised that sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan required public welfare, inclusive development and improved governance, and appreciated the provincial government’s efforts in socioeconomic development and strengthening ties between the state and citizens.

He also praised the role of security forces in maintaining peace, stability and state authority in the province.

According to ISPR, the army chief was received on arrival in Quetta by the Corps Commander Quetta.
