Field Marshal Munir stresses coordinated efforts to consolidate peace in Balochistan

QUETTA: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir The has stressed the importance of continued coordination among law enforcement agencies and other state institutions to consolidate peace and maintain an environment conducive to sustained economic activity and development in Balochistan, the military media wing said on Sunday.

Munir, who visited Quetta Garrison and interacted with commanders and commanding officers of field formations, reviewed the security situation, operational preparedness and measures aimed at maintaining peace and stability in Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

He was given a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security environment and operational matters in the province.

The briefing also covered measures being taken to promote sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan, as well as institutional coordination and support for the province’s socio-economic development.

“The peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Balochistan remain central to the efforts of the state,” Munir said, according to ISPR.

He said that a secure and stable environment would help facilitate development initiatives, create economic opportunities and improve prospects for the people of the province.

The CDF also called for coordinated efforts by all relevant institutions to strengthen peace and improve the welfare of Balochistan’s population.

During the visit, the field marshal praised the professionalism, operational readiness and commitment of troops deployed in the province.

He also commended officers and soldiers for their steadfastness and dedication in carrying out their duties.

Munir paid tribute to soldiers who had been killed in the line of duty, praising their sacrifices for the country’s peace and stability.

“The sacrifices of the martyrs are a source of pride for the nation,” he said, according to ISPR.

The field marshal expressed confidence that ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in Balochistan would continue with greater effectiveness.

Field Marshal Munir was received by Commander Quetta Corps upon his arrival at Quetta Garrison, ISPR said.
