Full House actor Dave Coulier reveals devastating new diagnosis

Dave Coulier has revealed he is facing a new and unrelated health battle, months after beating stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

The Full House star, 65, said he has been diagnosed with p16 squamous carcinoma, a form of head and neck cancer found during a routine PET scan in October. “Something flared on the PET scan,” he explained. “It turned out that I have p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of my tongue.” Doctors assured him the diagnosis is “totally unrelated” to his previous cancer.

Coulier has begun 35 rounds of targeted radiation, with treatment set to finish on 31 December. Despite the setback, he said the prognosis is “very good”, noting the cancer carries a curability rate above 90 per cent.

He urged others to prioritise their health. “Early detection saved my life, not just the first time but the second time as well. Get your check-ups. Colonoscopies, breast exams, prostate exams. They will save your life.”

Coulier beat non-Hodgkin lymphoma earlier this year, a diagnosis that followed severe lymph-node swelling from a respiratory infection. The treatment was difficult, prompting emotional “what if” conversations with his wife, Melissa, as he navigated chemotherapy.

During his recovery, he created AwearMarket, a digital marketplace for toxin-free, holistic products, inspired by his efforts to remove harmful chemicals from his home.

Cancer has profoundly shaped Coulier’s family history. He has previously spoken about losing his mother, sister Sharon and niece Shannon to breast cancer, while another sister, Karen, was undergoing treatment at the same time as him.

Reflecting on both diagnoses, he said he hopes his openness encourages others to act early. “Take great care of yourself. There is a lot to live for.”
