G-Dragon makes a grand comeback with new single “Power”

WB DESK: One of most famous K-pop artists, G-Dragon, just caused several girls to sequel in delight.
The iconic leader of the boy band “BIGBANG” officially returned to the music scene after a long hiatus. The singer released his latest music offering, “POWER” for millions of adoring fangirls worldwide.

This marks his first solo project since 2017 and hints at a major comeback under another label “Empire”.
The Korean singer’s new track reveals his signature hip-hop in all its glory, featuring cocky lyrics that proclaim “Guess who’s back/it’s your boy, GD!”
He collaborated with renowned writers Tommy “TB Hits” Brown, Steven Franks and Theran Thomas.
The music video was shot in a single continuous take, adding to the track’s vibrant energy while putting heavy focus on G-Dragon’s quintessential, unapologetic killer fashion sense.
Musically, the song blends elements of hip-hop and K-pop, as it features upbeat tempo, several beats and catchy chorus that is sure to make his fans scream in delight.
After a seven-year hiatus, the singer’s return has excited his fans across all ages and the globe to burst into happy tears.
His recent challenges with the media and departure from the YG Entertainment necessitated a break from his demanding career and time away from the spotlight seems to have done him good.
Power was released through Galaxy Corporation in partnership with Empire.
The singer had a huge impact on the K-pop industry, especially in his heyday. He was instrumental in shaping the genre’s global appeal during the second and third generation of K-pop.
He helped break the wall for K-pop to explode on the western world, from where it spread to rest of the globe. BTS have G-Dragon to thank when they eventually exploded around the world, as well.
His previous hits include “Heartbreaker” and “Crooked”, which helped solidify his reputation as one of the industry’s greats.

The singer is also set to perform at the 2024 MAMA Awards in Osaka, Japan on November 23.
There are also talks of a potential world tour in 2025 and a business partnership with the Tencent Music Entertainment Group for his upcoming regional tour.
