ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner met with delegations of Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PMLQ) and Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) today.
The meeting was part of the consultation drive of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to consult with the political parties separately and hold discussions on electoral timeline and proposed election dates.
Representatives of PMLQ and TLP offered suggestions to the ECP on the elections.
After the meeting, PMLQ leader leader Ghulam Mustafa said that the meeting went well. “I wish the election would be held within 90 days and be transparent,” he said adding that the use of notes should be discouraged in the elections.
He said that his party wishes that overseas Pakistanis are also given the right to vote in the upcoming elections. “The Election Commission also told us about some of the constraints as well,” he said.
