Gold price increases by Rs700 per tola

WEB DESK: Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend for the second consecutive session, mirroring an increase in international rates.

On Friday, the price of gold per tola in the local market reached Rs241,700, marking a single-day increase of Rs700, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

Similarly, the price of 10-gramme gold rose by Rs600, selling at Rs207,219. This follows a rise on Thursday when the price per tola increased by Rs400 to reach Rs241,000.

The international gold rate also saw an increase on Friday, with the price per ounce rising by $22 to $2,326, inclusive of a $20 premium, as reported by the APGJSA.

In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged at Rs2,850 per tola.

It’s noteworthy that back in April, gold prices in the local market hit an all-time high of Rs252,200 per tola.
