KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan fell on Monday, mirroring a downward trend in global bullion markets at the start of the trading week, local trade associations said.

In the domestic market, the price of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs2,300 per tola (11.66 grams) to settle at Rs428,936.

The price for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs1,972 to Rs367,743.

Local dealers attributed the decline to a drop in international prices, where spot gold eased by $23 to trade at $4,065 per ounce.

Domestic silver prices also experienced a downturn.

The price per tola fell by Rs69 to settle at Rs6,324, while 10-gram silver dropped by Rs59 to close at Rs5,421.
