Gold rates remain unchanged in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan remained steady on Friday following a previous session increase, reflecting stability in the international market.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola held firm at Rs243,000, while the 10-gramme gold rate was Rs208,333.

On Thursday, gold prices saw a notable increase, with the per tola rate rising by Rs2,400. However, this upward momentum did not continue into Friday, as the international market showed no change.

The APGJSA reported that the global rate for gold was steady at $2,362 per ounce, inclusive of a $20 premium.

Similarly, the price of silver in the local market remained unchanged at Rs2,800 per tola.

It is noteworthy that in April, gold prices in Pakistan reached a record high of Rs252,200 per tola, marking a significant peak for the precious metal in the local market.
