Govt declares public holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a public holiday on Wednesday, August 26, on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), marking 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the summary for the public holiday to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Following the approval, the Cabinet Division issued a notification declaring August 26 a public holiday across the country.
All federal government offices, departments and institutions will remain closed on the occasion.
The holiday will be observed on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, which falls on August 26 this year according to the Islamic calendar.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi is observed across Pakistan with religious gatherings, processions and special programmes organised to mark the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
