Govt to release salaries, pensions early ahead of Eidul Adha

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to release salaries and pensions to government employees and retirees ahead of Eidul Adha, according to an official notification.

The Ministry of Finance has directed that salaries and pensions for May 2026 be disbursed on May 22 to facilitate public sector employees before the religious holiday.

According to the notification, Eidul Adha is expected to fall on May 27 or May 28, 2026, subject to moon sighting, and the final date will be confirmed accordingly.

The government has approved the early payment of salaries and pensions for Muslim employees and pensioners in view of the festive occasion.

The finance ministry has issued instructions to the Controller General of Accounts to ensure timely disbursement of payments.

The decision aims to provide financial convenience to government employees ahead of Eidul Adha, according to the statement.
