ISLAMABAD: The Met Office has forecast heavy rain in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Taxila, Murree and the Galiyat region, with showers expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock over the next one to three hours.

Peshawar has received light rain, while heavy rainfall is expected in the city over the next 24 hours. Rain is also forecast in Chitral, Dir, Bajaur, Mansehra and Abbottabad, as well as Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda and Swat.

The weather department has forecast rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in Kohistan. Rain is also expected in Kurram, Kohat, Bannu and Lakki Marwat.

Dera Ismail Khan is likely to receive rain accompanied by strong winds and hailstorms, according to the forecast. The Met Office warned that strong winds and heavy rain could damage vulnerable infrastructure, including mud houses and electricity poles.

Meanwhile, Nowshera received heavy rain and hail at several locations. The hailstorm damaged crops and orchards, while heavy rainfall caused streams and nullahs to swell and water accumulated on roads.
