KARACHI: HYK registered a convincing five-wicket victory over Pindiz in their PSL 11 clash at the National Stadium Karachi, chasing down the target with 21 balls to spare.
After being put into bat, Pindiz managed 121-9 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings saw Sam Billings top-score with 28 off 22 balls, while Yasir Khan contributed 24 off 30 deliveries. Asif Afridi added a late unbeaten 15 off 12 balls as HYK bowlers kept the pressure throughout.
For HYK, Hunain Shah led the bowling attack with outstanding figures of 3-18 in his four overs. Mohammad Ali also impressed with 3-21, while Glenn Maxwell chipped in with a tight spell of 1/6.
In response, HYK comfortably chased the target, scoring 123-5 in 16.3 overs. Irfan Khan Niazi played a key unbeaten knock of 34 off 29 balls, while Marnus Labuschagne and Kusal Perera added valuable 32-run contributions each to guide the side home.
Pindiz bowlers tried to fight back, with Asif Afridi taking 2-20, while Mohammad Amir and Ben Sears picked up one wicket each, but the total proved insufficient to defend.
Hunain Shah was named Player of the Match for his match-winning bowling performance.
