ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan’s one eye has now become “almost normal” following treatment by an ophthalmologist, according to a report submitted by the Adiala jail superintendent to the Supreme Court.

A two-page report detailing the health condition of Imran Khan, as well as the meetings he has been allowed with his wife and lawyers, said that Imran is regularly examined by medical officers and several government-appointed doctors, while arrangements have also been made for specialist consultations when required.

According to the report, Imran and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are allowed to meet every Tuesday in accordance with jail rules. So far, the two have held 84 meetings at the prison, the report said.

The report further stated that Imran’s lawyer Salman Safdar met him on February 10 and April 4, 2026.

The jail superintendent also referred to an assurance reportedly given by lawyer Salman Akram Raja before the Islamabad High Court that he would not speak to the media within the jail premises after meeting Imran Khan.

According to the report, however, media talks were subsequently held in violation of the court’s order.

The jail authorities also cited a decision of an Islamabad High Court single-member bench in the Sher Afzal case, in which “Rule 265 of the jail rules was declared unlawful”.

The report alleged that discussions during meetings at the jail had been used to incite public sentiment against the judiciary, foreign policy and law enforcement agencies.

On Imran’s health, the report said that medical officers examine him “three times a day”, including checks related to his food and fluid intake. It added that records of his medical examinations by several government doctors were being maintained.

The report particularly addressed concerns surrounding Imran’s eyesight, stating that he had been receiving treatment from an ophthalmologist.

According to the report, “one of Imran’s eyes has now become almost normal” following treatment.

The report also included a summary of medical examinations carried out by “39 different medical specialists” between November 4, 2023 and August 10, 2026.

The submission comes ahead of a Supreme Court hearing of a petition on Imran’s health and meetings.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed is scheduled to hear the case on Tuesday.

The court is expected to examine the jail authorities’ report alongside the concerns raised regarding Imran’s medical treatment, access to family members and lawyers, and the arrangements governing his meetings in prison.

The report provides the jail administration’s account of Imran’s medical care and meetings but the allegations regarding the use of meetings to influence public sentiment remain claims by the authorities and are subject to the court’s consideration.
