Imran Khan’s sisters taken into custody by Islamabad police

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police detained Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, at D-Chowk and shifted them to the Secretariat Police Station.
As soon as the two sisters, who had taken less-traveled routes, arrived at D-Chowk, police sprang into action, swiftly taking them into custody before transporting them in a mobile van.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon also visited D-Chowk to review the security situation.
Speaking to journalists, he said, “We have arrested more than 200 workers so far. The protesters will be dealt with comprehensively.”
Separately, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted an aerial inspection of various areas, reviewing security arrangements and the overall situation.
He expressed satisfaction with the security measures, stating that no one would be allowed to disturb law and order in the capital.
“The Islamabad administration and police are fully prepared to handle any situation,” Naqvi added.
“All necessary steps will be taken to maintain peace, security, and to protect the lives and property of citizens.”
On the other hand, police 30 PTI protesters from the twin cities amidst the closure of mobile phone service in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

PTI founder Imran Khan again urged his supporters to gather for a “peaceful protest” for the independence of the judiciary.
The PTI said that its caravans were moving towards Islamabad from different cities. The rally from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Senator Azam Khan Swati.
The Islamabad and Rawalpindi administrations have blocked all main highways and roads leading to the federal capital by placing containers and other obstacles.
The federal government has deployed more than 4,000 security personnel in Islamabad. All main roads in the federal capital have been sealed by playing containers.
Commuters and travelers had to face inconvenience to reach their destinations.
Metro Bus Service, Mobile Networks Suspended
Meanwhile, ahead of the PTI’s planned protest, metro bus service between Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been suspended. Pobile phone services in the twin cities have been disrupted.
Roads have been blocked with containers at 24 locations across Islamabad.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police have put in place multiple security measures to prevent PTI protesters from reaching D-Chowk.
In Rawalpindi, security arrangements have been finalised with the deployment of over 4,000 police personnel to maintain peace and order.
CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani said that police have been deployed at all entry and exit points of the city, as well as on major highways.
Due to the PTI protest, roads leading to Islamabad and Rawalpindi from across the country have been sealed.
The road to Adiala Jail has also been sealed by placing containers, and a heavy police have beeb deplyed outside the jail.
All main highways in Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been sealed with containers, effectively cutting off land connectivity between the twin cities. A double-layered container barricade has been set up at Faizabad, while a 20-foot-high container wall has been erected at Zero Point.
In addition, roads connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi to other parts of Punjab, including Lahore, have been blocked. The motorway, Ring Road, Babusabu Interchange, and roads from Shahdara to Rawalpindi have also been closed.
