NEW RAIPUR: South Africa pulled off a thrilling chase of 359 runs in the final over as India vs South Africa 2nd ODI took place today, beating India by four wickets to level the three-match series 1–1. The decider will now be played on December 6.
Proteas’ Batting Line
Opening the innings, Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock gave South Africa a steady start in the second IND VS SA ODI. Markram starred with a blistering 110 off 98 balls, while Matthew Breetzke (68) and Dewald Brevis (54) kept the chase on track.
For India, Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna claimed two wickets each, but the Proteas held their nerve to complete the chase.
India’s Total
Batting first, India had posted 358-5, powered by Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 105 and Virat Kohli’s 102. Captain KL Rahul finished unbeaten on 66, while Ravindra Jadeja added 24 not out, giving South Africa a challenging target.
India had won the first ODI by 17 runs, taking a 1-0 lead. The second ODI’s high-scoring chase has now set the stage for a thrilling series decider on December 6, with both teams in strong form and the stakes higher than ever.
