India’s Kranti fined 10pc of match fee for violating ICC code during Women’s Asia Cup final

Indian women’s cricketer Kranti Gaud has been fined 10 per cent of her match fee for violating the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct during the Women’s Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka.

According to the ICC, Kranti used inappropriate language during the final, which was deemed a breach of the players’ and support staff’s code of conduct.

The ICC took note of the incident and imposed a fine equivalent to 10 per cent of her match fee. Kranti admitted the offence and accepted the sanction.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s women’s team was also fined during the Women’s Asia Cup for maintaining a slow over rate in the semi-final.

The ICC said Pakistan were one over short of their required rate at the end of the match, resulting in a fine of 5 per cent of the players’ match fees.

Both India and Pakistan were therefore penalised for breaches of ICC regulations during the Women’s Asia Cup.
