WEB DESK: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is set to arrive in Islamabad today for a two-day official trip aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia.
Travelling with a senior delegation that includes key ministers and top officials, Prabowo is visiting Pakistan for the first time since assuming office. The trip comes at a symbolic moment, as both countries mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.
During his stay, the Indonesian leader will hold formal talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focusing on expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. He is also scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who was recently appointed Chief of Defence Forces, is slated to call on the visiting president as well.
Both sides are expected to review ties in trade, investment, defence, health, information technology, climate action, education and cultural exchange, alongside discussions on strengthening collaboration at the regional and international levels.
A number of MoUs are likely to be signed during the visit to formalise new areas of partnership.
