LAUDERHILL: West Indies have announced a reshuffled 14-member T20I squad for their upcoming three-match series against Pakistan in Lauderhill, with injuries and player workload management prompting notable exclusions and fresh call-ups.
This will be the eighth bilateral T20I series between Pakistan and West Indies, who first met in the shortest format in April 2011. Pakistan enjoy a dominant record, having won 15 of the 21 T20Is, with West Indies winning three and three matches ending without result.
Both teams enter the series looking to bounce back from recent setbacks — Pakistan lost 2-1 to Bangladesh, while West Indies suffered a 5-0 T20I whitewash at the hands of Australia.
For the series, Pacer Alzarri Joseph has been rested following a packed schedule that included the recent UK tour and the Australia series. Meanwhile, opener Evin Lewis remains sidelined with the injury that kept him out of the final T20I against Australia. His recovery is being closely monitored ahead of the ODI leg starting August 8.
