Intermediate exams postponed across Sindh due to heatwave until 27 May

KARACHI: Intermediate examinations in Sindh have been postponed across the province due to the heatwave.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, approved the postponement of intermediate exams on the recommendation of the Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ali Malkani.

The exams, originally scheduled to start on May 22, will now begin on May 27, according to a spokesperson for the Chief Minister of Sindh.

Following the Chief Minister’s directive, the Universities and Boards Department has issued a notification regarding the change in exam dates.

The Met Office had forecast that daytime temperatures in Sindh and Punjab were “likely to remain 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal” from May 21.

However, on Saturday, the maximum temperature in at least 12 cities across Sindh — including Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Dadu, had already surged to three to four degrees Celsius above their monthly average.
