Iran envoy praises Pakistan’s diplomatic role in facilitating talks

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, on Tuesday praised Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating dialogue and coordination around ongoing regional engagements, commending the role of Pakistan’s foreign office and senior leadership.

In a post on social media platform X, Moghadam described diplomats as “architects of peace,” highlighting their role in navigating complex international relations through dialogue and understanding.

He expressed “sincere and profound appreciation” to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as officials of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for what he called their tireless work behind the scenes.

“Their dedicated efforts translate political will and principled determination into the practical avenues and arrangements necessary for any diplomatic process to take shape,” Moghadam said.

He added that such efforts often begin well before formal talks commence, involving detailed coordination and facilitation that make negotiations possible.

“This is diplomacy in its truest sense — not merely words, but the quiet, persistent labour that makes dialogue possible and peace attainable,” the ambassador said, praising the professionalism and commitment of Pakistan’s diplomatic corps.

The remarks come at a time when Pakistan has been engaged in facilitating regional dialogue efforts, including contacts linked to tensions involving Iran and the United States, though officials have provided limited public details on the scope of such engagements.

Pakistan has in recent months reiterated its support for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts, positioning itself as a potential intermediary amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
