Iranian FM Araghchi expected in Islamabad as U.S.-Iran peace talks may enter second round

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad tonight with a small delegation, government sources said.

According to the sources, his visit comes as Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran. Following key discussions with Pakistan’s mediation team, a second round of U.S.-Iran peace talks in Islamabad is expected.

Government sources also said that a U.S. logistics and security team is already present in Islamabad to support the negotiation process.

The expected talks signal Pakistan’s continued role as a facilitator amid efforts to reduce tensions between Washington and Tehran.
