What is Cloudflare?

Cloudflare, founded in 2009, is a web security and performance company that sits between a website’s server and its visitors. Using a global network of servers, it speeds up websites, strengthens security, and ensures reliability. Its key services include DDoS protection, a content delivery network (CDN) for faster loading, free SSL certificates for secure browsing, and automatic image and resource optimization. Cloudflare also offers a web application firewall to guard against attacks like SQL injection and XSS, along with analytics to monitor traffic and threats.

Additionally, its global load balancing helps keep websites available even during high demand.
